A Yunnan restaurant one block back from the Bund on Yan'an East Road. Step inside and the lights drop: red walls, dark wood, and Tibetan, Yi, Naxi and Dai patterns everywhere. The official blurb says the room is built around the Ancient Tea Horse Road, and it does feel more like a lodge outside Lijiang than downtown Shanghai. The cooking leans toward Burmese and Thai flavors, so coriander, lime and chili show up a lot. Walk three minutes after dinner and you're looking at the Pudong skyline, which is why so many people book it right before a Bund night walk.
