Palacio de la Condesa de Lebrija

Palacio de la Condesa de Lebrija

Palace floors laid with Roman mosaics from Italica

Address
Calle Cuna 8, in the middle of the Centro shopping streets

Behind an ordinary door on a shopping street, the courtyard floor turns out to be Roman mosaic from end to end. The countess gathered pieces from the nearby Italica digs and had them laid down, so you walk over them between horseshoe arches and Moorish-style tiles. The ground floor circles the patio and its rooms; the upper floor is by guided visit. Ceramics, paintings and furniture are packed in the way a private collection would be.
