On a hillside lane in Seongbuk-dong stands Bohwagak, a house built in 1938 and now revived as a private museum. It is where collector Jeon Hyeong-pil first housed his paintings, calligraphy and ceramics. There is no permanent display. It opens only when a show is on, so check the schedule first. Entry is by reservation, so few people go in at once and the rooms stay quiet.
