Seoul’s biggest traditional market dates back to the Joseon era. Thousands of stalls sell clothes, kitchenware, glasses, ginseng and stationery, packed into buildings and alleys. At lunch the kalguksu noodle lane and the braised hairtail lane fill up with diners. Sungnyemun gate is a short walk away. Many shops shut on Sundays, so plan around that.
