Widely known as the original in Dongdaemun's dakhanmari alley. A whole chicken goes into a huge aluminium pot with potatoes and rice cakes and boils at your table, the clear broth slowly turning milky. You mix your own dip from chili paste, soy, vinegar and mustard, and dunk the chicken. The fixed finale is kalguksu noodles cooked in the leftover broth. Staff are used to ordering in other languages.
