A real forest a few subway stops from downtown. Walk up through the park and the path leads on to Hokkaido Shrine. Late April to early May brings picnic mats under the cherry trees, and from mid-October the leaves turn. Squirrels turn up beside the trail some days. Zoo, shrine and a cafe stop make an easy half-day walk.
