Japan's only beer museum, in an 1890 red-brick building that started life as a sugar refinery. Take the photo under the red star on the chimney, then climb through floors on how Hokkaido's colonial office started brewing, with old posters and bottles along the way. It ends in the ground-floor tasting hall with a glass of Kaitakushi beer, now brewed only for here, or the Hokkaido-only Classic. Since the July 2026 renewal the self-guided visit costs ¥1,000, so ignore older posts calling it free. Lots of people roll on to the lamb-grill halls next door for dinner.
