Fifteen-odd minutes out by subway, in a plain block of flats, yet the queue starts before opening. The owner trained in the Sumire lineage, so the lard-sealed, scalding miso is family, but a dab of grated ginger on the chashu makes it noticeably cleaner. Stir the ginger in halfway and the soup changes gear. It opens mainly for lunch, with dinner only Friday to Sunday, so time your trip.
