The ferry drops you right on Bridgeway, the main street

A small town strung along the water below the hills north of the Golden Gate. Bridgeway is lined with galleries, cafés and ice-cream shops, and colourful houseboats float in the yacht harbour. The classic itinerary: rent a bike at Fisherman's Wharf, ride Crissy Field and over the bridge, coast downhill into Sausalito, then roll the bike onto the ferry home. From the waterfront benches the San Francisco skyline sits across the bay like a postcard.
