Pipes are set among carved stones at the end of the jetty, and putting your ear near them brings up a low, rumbling hum from the water. Sit on the stone steps and the bay and the Golden Gate open in front of you. Few people come out here, so it stays quiet. The sound is loudest near high tide and nearly gone at low.
