A takeaway dim sum counter in the middle of Chinatown's grocery street. Behind the glass, har gow, siu mai and buns come straight out of the steamers; numbered photo menus outside let you choose while you queue and just call out numbers. Three shrimp dumplings for $3.80 and a BBQ pork bun for $2 — rare prices for this city. There's nowhere to sit, so everyone carries their box to a nearby park bench. Staff are famously brusque, but they understand basic English.
