Beside the outdoor lap pool sit hot pots at different temperatures, with neighbours chest-deep and chatting. To Icelanders the pool is part café, part living room. Follow the rule of showering naked before you get in and the rest is easy. It costs far less than the Blue Lagoon, and there are slides and a steam bath too.
