A pizza and pasta house in an 1860s stone cowshed. The ceiling is low, the fire's lit, and woodsmoke is the first thing you notice. The menu has barely changed since it opened in 1977, and lots of tables add the soup and house bread. The 2026 MICHELIN Guide New Zealand gave it a Bib Gourmand for good value cooking. Returning diners after 30 years say it still smells of burning wood.
