A luxury lodge on the slope beside the lakeshore road to Glenorchy. The Michelin Guide lists it as a small hotel of about 16 rooms, with three suites in the main lodge and villas in the bush, and it was long known as Matakauri Lodge before the Rosewood name. Out the windows it is Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables, nothing else. Many rates bundle meals and drinks, so guests tend to spend whole days on the property.
