A four-star halfway up the Fernhill slope west of town, formerly the Mercure Queenstown Resort and now under the Mövenpick name. The height gives the rooms wide views over the lake to the mountains, and there is an outdoor pool and a spa pool. On the dates checked it was far cheaper than the Novotel or Crowne Plaza, so it sits in the value slot here. The trade-off is the steep road to and from town.
