Address
Follow Marine Parade along the town-centre lakefront; the whole peninsula at its eastern end is the gardens

Walk down to the end of Beach Street and you're on the waterfront: the wharf where the old Earnslaw ties up, a strip of sand, people sitting on the wall. Keep heading east and the path runs out onto a peninsula that is one big park. A track loops its edge under tall trees, with water on one side and the Remarkables across the bay the whole way round. Inside there's a pond, a rose garden and a disc golf course where locals fling frisbees between the pines. Sit on a bench with an ice cream and the ducks will find you.
