A few steps from the town centre you reach a small beach of round pebbles. The water is too cold for paddling, but for sitting and looking up at the Remarkables across the lake there is no better free seat in town. Boats come and go from the wharf, and at dusk the ridgeline slowly changes colour. No ticket and no plan needed.
