Address
Measured from the Old-New Synagogue; the synagogues and the old cemetery are all within five minutes' walk

Right behind the designer shops of Pařížská Street lies what is left of one of Europe's oldest Jewish towns. One ticket covers a string of synagogues and the Old Jewish Cemetery, and the cemetery is the one that stays with you: short of space, the community kept adding earth and burying again, so some 12,000 crooked headstones lean against each other in layers. The walls of the Pinkas Synagogue are hand-lettered with the names of about 80,000 Czech Jews murdered in the Holocaust. Then the Spanish Synagogue, gold and green patterning over every wall and the ceiling, feels like another world.
