Álvaro Siza's white contemporary art museum, a pink art deco villa and a large park all share one estate. The museum's smooth white rooms frame the garden through their windows like pictures, and plenty of people come for the building more than the shows. Out in the park there is a giant red pair of garden shears and a timber treetop walk through the woods. It is quiet and light on tourists, a good half-day reset after the crowded old town.
