In the middle of Porto's busiest shopping street, an Art Nouveau café still full of gilt, giant mirrors and leather chairs. It's nicknamed the Harry Potter café because J.K. Rowling is said to have been a regular while she lived in Porto. The signature French toast is the thing to order, and some days there's live piano. A coffee costs several times the local rate, so most reviews call it paying for the room. Queues move faster than they look.
