This 75.6-metre bell tower, attached to an 18th-century baroque church, was for a long time the tallest thing in Porto. You pass through a small museum and then climb more than 200 stone steps, the passage narrowing until you have to squeeze past people coming down. At the top the red-tiled roofs spread out in every direction, with the cathedral, the Douro and Gaia to the south. The church at the foot of the tower is free to enter.
