You doze through the pre-dawn drive to Thap Lamu pier in Khao Lak, then it's another hour-plus on a speedboat. On Island 8 a short scramble up the rocks gives you Sail Rock, a boulder standing like a sail, above a curve of white sand and see-through water; most Similan photos are taken from this spot. Put your face in the water and there are table corals and clownfish right below. Lunch is usually on Island 4, which has a canteen and toilets. The whole park closes in the wet season: the 2026–27 season runs from 15 October 2026 to 15 May 2027.
