Villas are scattered among the Laguna lagoons, and the cheapest rate on every date we checked was a villa with its own pool. This was the first Banyan Tree ever, opened in 1994, so you'll spot age in things like the sockets, though few reviewers hold it against the place. Days here mean cycling around the complex or taking the boat to Canal Village. If Patong nights or island tours are the plan, it's a long way out.
