A pâtisserie that began as a bakery on Rue Royale in 1862 and is credited with popularising the macaron as we know it, two shells sandwiching ganache. The Champs-Élysées shop opens 8am to 9:30pm every day, with one line for the takeaway boutique and another for the sit-down salon de thé. Macarons go home in the signature pale-green box, so plenty of people walk out with one as a gift.
