Address
Nakanoshima 1-chome, Kita Ward, at the eastern tip of the island between the Dojima and Tosabori rivers

The park fills the eastern end of a long island between the Dojima and Tosabori rivers. Cross the Sendanoki Bridge and the first thing you see is the red-brick Central Public Hall from 1918, with the domed Nakanoshima Library, a working library since 1904, right beside it. The rose garden at the eastern tip has about 4,000 bushes of 89 varieties that bloom in May and again in autumn. After dark the hall's brickwork is floodlit and the terraces of the Kitahama cafés across the water reflect in the river.
