From the crossroads by the railway station you look up at a grey-stone Gothic church perched on a hill. Finished in the early 1930s under French rule, locals simply call it the 'church on the mountain'. Walk up the ramp and the retaining walls are lined with small memorial plaques; inside, light from the stained glass lands in coloured patches on the wooden pews. You'll often run into couples doing wedding shoots.
