About 300 plant species named in the Manyoshu poems grow across a roughly 3-hectare garden. Each plant has a label with its verse, so you read a thousand-year-old line in front of the actual flower. The wisteria garden at the center is the star; when the purple clusters hang in spring, photographers gather. After the deer-heavy park, this is where your pace drops.
