Izasa, a Yoshino maker of persimmon-leaf sushi, runs this branch in the Yumekaze Hiroba complex just before Todai-ji. Takeaway boxes are sold downstairs; the restaurant is on the first floor up. Trays carry kakinoha-zushi with tempura, thin somen and a few side dishes, an easy first taste of the local speciality. It sits between the deer park and the national museum, and there is no lift, only stairs.
