A shrine-run teahouse on the wooded path between Kasuga Taisha and the Manyo Botanical Garden. The signature is manyo-gayu, a seasonal take on Nara's old tea-simmered rice porridge. It is a thin, tea-scented bowl with pickles on the side: plain, warm and just right after the shrine walk. Around 50 seats inside and in the garden.
