A design hotel on a back street off Brunswick Street in Fitzroy, often called Melbourne's coolest neighbourhood. One guest wanted to take every piece of lobby furniture home, and another could see the city skyline from a seventh-floor room. On weekends the Rose Street Artists' Market sets up across the road, and the rooftop bar is a summer-evening favourite. The trade-off: it's outside the free tram zone, so sightseeing means paid trams. On our dates the lowest rate ran AUD 208–352.
