The 16th-century Saadian sultans and their families are buried here. The next dynasty walled up the entrance and the site was forgotten until a 1917 aerial survey found it again. The star is the Hall of Twelve Columns: small tombs under marble pillars and a gilded cedar dome. You can't go in; you queue to peer through the doorway. The graves in the garden let you see tile patterns up close.
