Café de France

Café de France (place Jemaa el-Fna)

A front-row terrace over Jemaa el-Fnaa at sunset

Budget
The price of a drink
Address
Northeast side of Jemaa el-Fnaa, at the start of Rue des Banques

One of the oldest cafés on the edge of Jemaa el-Fnaa; climb to the upper terrace and the whole square spreads out below. At sunset the stall smoke rises and the Koutoubia minaret lights up, so the top-floor seats go fast. Drinks are cheap; most reviewers say skip the food. Treat it as a viewing seat that comes with a coffee or mint tea.
