Along the Tagaytay ridge; pin at People's Park in the Sky, the highest viewpoint

Two hours south of Manila the air turns noticeably cooler. From the ridge, at around 600 m, you look down on Taal Lake, a huge caldera, with a small volcano island sitting in the middle, which itself holds a crater lake. Viewpoint cafés and restaurants line the ridge, and the classic move is a bowl of hot beef-shank bulalo soup with the volcano in front of you. The island has been closed since the 2020 eruption, so boats only circle it.
