Max's Restaurant (Scout Tuazon original)

Max's Restaurant

Fried chicken from the spot where it began in 1945

Address
21 Scout Tuazon Street, Quezon City

This building is where schoolteacher Maximo Gimenez opened his dining room in 1945, feeding the American soldiers who kept turning up at his house. His niece Ruby Trota ran the kitchen, and her fried chicken carried the name from there. The original branch has a dining room dressed as the 1950s and 60s, a small museum, a Yardstick Coffee cafe and Ruby's Lounge, the bar. The chicken has a thin crisp skin and seasoning that runs down to the bone, so the rice disappears fast.
