The cafe has held its corner on Remedios Circle since 1979, grown out of founder Larry Cruz's old antique shop turned deli, and the wood furniture and bric-a-brac still feel that way. Its fame is a thick hot chocolate called Chocolate Eh, served strong in a small cup rather than anything coffee. The food runs from Filipino home cooking such as Lola Ising's adobo rice to Spanish-leaning plates. It opens at 7 a.m., which makes it a good first stop on a Malate walk.
