On a corner of Puerta del Sol, glass cases are lined with cream buns and pastries and the ground-floor counter is always packed. Downstairs is standing only: most people grab a pastry and a coffee and go. Upstairs is a sit-down salon with table service and a view over the square. Cream or chocolate napolitanas and big palmeras are the big sellers.
