A 261 m golden lotus visible from all over the peninsula: a giant LED-wrapped dome at the base flashing all night, with petal-shaped tower rising out of it. You don't need to go in; walking from Senado Square and seeing it jut above the old rooftops sums up Macau's odd contrasts.
