A six-tier Chinese temple of red pillars and swooping roofs on a hilltop, built in 1989 by the Hainanese community and dedicated to Mazu, goddess of the sea. Hundreds of red lanterns hang in rows over the courtyard, so every photo comes out glowing red. In the prayer hall people burn incense and shake fortune sticks; make a donation and you can draw one yourself. Over the balustrade, the city skyline sits in the distance.
