Inside the Lake Gardens; the Muzium Negara side entrance is the closest

Opened in 1888, this is KL's oldest big park, and walking in feels like someone opened a window. Lake-side paths lead to the orchid and hibiscus gardens, and the city towers sit on the treeline in the distance. The grounds themselves are free, which makes it an easy way to cool off after a sweaty morning downtown. The Bird Park, Butterfly Park and Planetarium sell separate tickets.
