Walk into the white building and look up: a turquoise-tiled dome floats overhead. Twelve permanent galleries cover Qur'an manuscripts, models of great mosques, arms and armour, ceramics, jewellery, and Islamic art from the Malay world, China and India. It's compact enough for two hours, quiet and cool, perfect for the hottest part of the day. Until April 2027 the special galleries hold Tatreez, an exhibition of Palestinian embroidery.
