A small boat slides along the pitch-black river, a boatman rowing at the back. Thousands of fireflies on the mangroves along the bank blink in near-unison, so whole trees light up like Christmas decorations. All you hear is the oar and the insects. Most people do it as an evening loop: the silvered leaf monkeys on Monkey Hill by day, a seafood dinner, then the boat after dark.
