⚠ Knees must be covered

Hours

Tickets
Temple Cave free; some side caves and attractions charge separately
Address
At the foot of a limestone hill north of the city; the golden statue is in sight from Batu Caves KTM station

Step out of the station and the golden statue of Lord Murugan grabs you first. Beside it, 272 steps painted red, yellow and blue climb the limestone cliff, with monkeys lounging on them more comfortably than the tourists. When you're out of breath you walk into a vast cave with a hole in the roof, sunlight falling on the Hindu shrine inside. It's a working temple, so the incense and bells never stop.
