Kadıköy & Moda

Kadıköy Çarşı – Moda Sahili

Ferry across to Asian-side market lanes and a seaside walk

Hours
Always open; market shops mostly morning to evening
Tickets
Free; ferry on İstanbulkart (Beşiktaş–Kadıköy 59.28 TL as of June 2026)
Address
From Kadıköy pier through the market lanes (Çarşı) to the Moda shore, about 20 minutes south on foot

Twenty minutes on a ferry and you change continents. Step off at Kadıköy and the market lanes start at once, with fish, cheese and pickle shops, and queues outside the stuffed-mussel (midye dolma) and fish-sandwich stalls. Fewer tourists and more students and office workers than the Old City. Walk south down Bahariye Caddesi to the Moda shore, where the old Moda pier building out on the water is now a small library. Sitting on the grass at sunset watching the European skyline is how the day ends here.
