A white palace of a hotel in the middle of Höheweg, right in front of the Höhematte meadow where the paragliders land. It opened as Pension Victoria in 1856 and merged with the Hotel Jungfrau next door in 1899, and the lobby and corridors still feel like an old grand hotel. There are 216 rooms and a big spa with several pools, a gym and indoor tennis, so a rainy day spent inside is no loss. Front-facing rooms look across the meadow straight at the Jungfrau.
