Address
A roadside lookout on Highway 72 past Hanauma Bay; Halona Blowhole is about 6 km before it

Past Hanauma Bay, Highway 72 runs along a coast of black lava. At Halona Blowhole each incoming wave forces a white jet of spray up through a lava tube, and the tiny cove next to it is known as the beach from the kissing scene in From Here to Eternity. Ten minutes on is Makapuu Lookout, looking down green cliffs to turquoise water, Makapuu Beach and round Rabbit Island (Manana) offshore. If you fancy a walk, the paved lighthouse trail nearby (about 3.2 km return) climbs to a view over the lighthouse.
