Opened in 1927, the museum is built around garden courtyards. It is strong on Asian art and Japanese prints, with Hawaiian and Pacific work too. The courtyard cafe sits outdoors beside a fountain, and you can have lunch there without a museum ticket. It stays open until 9pm on Fridays, which makes a good evening plan, and the Shangri La tours leave from here.
