Take a double-decker over the hills from Central and in 30–40 minutes the towers give way to sea on the south coast. The usual plan is to stop first at Repulse Bay, a wide sandy beach backed by expensive apartment blocks, then hop back on the same route to Stanley. There you'll find a covered lane market, Murray House (an 1840s British barracks moved here stone by stone), Blake Pier sticking out into the bay and a strip of waterfront terrace restaurants. It's an unhurried half day, the opposite of downtown.
