Real tracks run down the middle of a lane barely wide enough for two people to pass. Almost every doorway is now a café or bar, and customers sit on low stools practically on the rails waiting. When a train is due the owners blow whistles and drag the furniture back against the walls; minutes later a horn sounds and the carriages ease past at knee height. Thirty seconds after it's gone the stools are back on the tracks, which is half the show.
