Rails run between old houses, and tiny café stools line the eaves on both sides. When a train is due, staff push your chair flat against the wall, and minutes later a locomotive rattles past close enough to touch. Since 2022, barriers and police sweeps have come and gone; in 2026 there was a big crackdown in January and an accident in August, yet the cafés reopened each time. In February 2026 the city agreed to cut train frequency on this stretch, so old timetables are unreliable.
