Asan Bay Overlook on Route 6, Nimitz Hill; Asan Beach Unit is on the coast below along Marine Corps Drive

From the hilltop overlook the sea and shoreline of Asan Bay spread out below: the very beach where the US 3rd Marine Division landed on 21 July 1944. The overlook's walls are covered with the names of American servicemen and Guam residents who died in the war. Down on the coast, the Asan Beach Unit is a palm-lined lawn with walking paths, memorials and traces of Japanese defences, and a morning jogging route for locals.
